Celebrating Curiosity and Connection: Freedom to Discover Day 2025

On Saturday, 21 June, our team, together with a wonderful mix of students, parents, and curious visitors, gathered for a full-day celebration of Freedom to Discover Day! It was a vibrant event filled with music, inspiration, and meaningful conversations about our programmes and upcoming adventures.

The day started early, as our energetic team transformed the hall into a colourful and welcoming space. (Catch a glimpse of Eleanor, Ace, and Juno in action as they brought the decorations to life!)

To kick things off, Eleanor and Ace treated the audience to a musical performance that lifted the mood and set a joyful tone for the rest of the day.

Katerina, the founder of Freedom to Discover, warmly welcomed everyone and shared personal reflections about the journey so far—reminding us why spaces for youth empowerment and exploration matter so much.

Jana and Eleanor then offered a deep dive into the upcoming C.H.O.I.R. youth exchange in August, taking place in the lakeside town of Ohrid. They covered everything from logistics to programme themes, and patiently answered all the questions parents and participants had about what to expect.

The spotlight then turned to the Mosaic of Minds project. Speakers shared heartfelt stories about how this initiative has impacted them personally and professionally

Katerina gave an inspiring talk about how the idea for the project was born, and introduced the Mosaic of Minds handbook—explaining why this resource is an important step forward. Joseline, from our partner organisation Oritundo, also shared her insights on the collaboration and the importance of the work.

Maged, a volunteer who played an active role in the project, spoke movingly about how the experience gave him a platform to be heard and truly seen. Rachella, a youth worker and one of the project interviewees, highlighted the importance of expanding this initiative to reach even more professionals working with young people.

Before the break, Joseline gave a beautiful live performance that added a special touch to the already inspiring atmosphere.

Later in the afternoon, Juno and Ace introduced the upcoming BMC exchange, which is just around the corner and also taking place in Ohrid. They shared key details about travel, daily schedules, and the learning focus—building anticipation for another meaningful international experience.

The day wrapped up just as it began—with a soulful musical performance by Ace and Eleanor, bringing the event full circle and leaving the audience on a high note.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who joined us—and beyond excited for what’s to come during this long, bright summer in North Macedonia!
